A gamemode of deception and murder based off Garry's Mod Murder.

The Innocent
As an innocent, your goal is to find and kill the murderer. If the murderer dies, the innocent win. One lucky innocent spawns with a gun, and the other innocent may collect scraps to craft a gun of their own.

The Murderer
As the murderer, your goal is to kill all the innocent. If you die, they win. Using your knife and your tools, you must kill everyone. Your most valuable tools are stealth and deception; raw strength is rarely enough!

The V3 Update

By Vapid Linus a - Posted Feb 25, 15

On January 25th, 2014, we released the first version of Minecraft Murder. We had a relatively good start, peaking at 20+ online players after as little as week. The community quickly got involved on the forum, and after another week we redesigned the website to what it is now. Steadily, the server kept growing in size. Back then, the server only had a single lobby, and as more and more players started playing on the server, we realized we’d have to expand.

On March 10th, 2014, we announced Murder V2. This was a new and improved version of Murder, including tons of new and exciting features that the community got excited for. It’s biggest and primary feature was the ability to have several matches, but we also added a bunch of other features to spice it up for the players. The release, which was 5 days later, turned into quite a mess. It took us several hours after scheduled release to get the update up and running; but once everything worked, players loved it. We kept growing and released new maps and updates every now and then.

On March 29th, 2014, the beginning of Murder’s future begun. This date is special, because it was the date the first line of code was written for Murder V3. This was still a secret and updates to Murder V2 were still getting released.

On May 25th, 2014, the last update for Murder V2 was released. Instead, all of the development time was now being spent on Murder V3, which rapidly increased the development. We got quiet, not much happened. People thought we were abandoning Murder, but this was far from the truth. By this time we had managed to reach 100+ concurrent players!

On August 21th, 2014, a short donator-only Alpha was released. The few donors who played on the server enjoyed it extensively. This release was still missing lots of features and was fairly buggy (as expected from an Alpha), but the community members helped us identify some of the biggest problems. After the test period, we got quiet again.

On October 29th, 2014, we released the public version of the Murder V3 Alpha server which is still available. You, our community members, have spent tons of hours on the Alpha server, helping us identify bugs and inspiring new features. We’ve been releasing updates to this server weekly, almost daily at times.

Today, it has been an entire year since Murder first saw the light of day. Today is Murder’s first birthdate. The first of many, as we have huge plans for the future of Murder.

We’d like to announce the official release of Murder V3. Since the release of Murder V2, we’ve learnt from our mistakes and this time around, the launch should be smooth and swift.  Murder V3 will contains tons of new features and changes, both minor and major.

Murder V3 has only been made possible by the astounding, incredible support we have gotten from you, our community, throughout the last year. And as a thank you to our very supportive community, we’re changing the price of VIP from $10 a month to only $5 a month, permanently! Ultra has also been reduced from $50 to $10 a month, however those who have already purchased Ultra for a one time fee will keep it permanently.

The Murder Staff team is excited to meet you there! :)
